Welcome back to the third blog/vlog for Corey Drinks! On this blog I review beers from around the world that are uncommon to people in the United States! Make sure you go check out the past two blogs I have done; I have reviewed a German beer and an English beer! On my blog I have four different categories for review: appearance, aroma, taste and chugability.

The beer of this week comes from a historic fishing village that is 60 miles from the Arctic circle in northern Iceland called Akureyri. The company it comes from calls itself Einstök Ölgerð which if you throw that into google translate comes out to Unique Brewing. The company was founded in 2010 and the current owner is David Altshuer. The beer I am trying this week is called Icelandic Arctic Berry Ale. The style of this is considered a wheat beer and the alcohol percentage is 5%.

All the categories for the review are out of five which will make the final score out of 20. Like all reviews we are starting with the appearance. The first thing I noticed is that there is a decent amount of foam and it is not very clear, it is very cloudy. Other than that it has the same color as a light pilsner beer. The appearance score is a 4/5

Second we have the aroma, which from far away smells strongly of berries other than that I couldn’t smell much else. The aroma score is a 5/5.

Next we have the taste which honestly tastes like a regular pilsner beer with a small hint of blueberries at the end. Overall not a very different flavor from other beers once you take out the blueberries. The taste score is 4/5.

Finally we have the chugability, going down it tasted very good, but it didn’t go fast because it is not a very smooth beer. This brings the chugability category a 3/5.

Together the ratings of the Einstök Ölgerð Icelandic Arctic Berry Ale is 16/20, which is the highest rating we have had on the blog so far! Make sure to keep up with my social media so you know when the next blog/vlog is out! You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram: @CoreyDrinks!
